Anita is a Mexican American, born and raised in Pennsylvania.

She held a 32-year Commonwealth government career serving the public, working as the state’s director of motor vehicles for the final 13 years. Anita's operations included over 400 employees, serving 12 million customers.

Anita served as chair of an international board and presented to international audiences on customer service and related operations. Her greatest love in the workplace was serving as a mentor to young women leaders; mentoring them on handling difficult interactions or situations; and showing them how to manage large operations with a team-oriented, performance-based approach.

Anita meditates daily. She had felt compelled to learn and find new ways to bring peace and a sense of well-being in her life and to those she interacted with. Her introduction came in the form of a meditation app and she and her husband, Chris, later added Transcendental Meditation to their lives.

Anita also took a leap of faith to retire at 54 and, with Chris, pursued building a courtyard dream house in Flagler Beach, Florida.

With her husband, she has two adult children, Amanda and Quinn and, for 15 years, she had a cockapoo named Reggie. Besides meditation, Anita enjoys Zumba classes, hanging out with family and friends, and when in Flagler Beach, watching the sunrise over the ocean.
